[00:00:02] Yeah, so it's a blessing for me to be here. You will see. I'm wifeless this morning.
[00:00:08] My wife is in Cape Town. She's coming back tonight. I'm super excited.
[00:00:16] And she went there to go and sort out some schooling stuff with the kids and because they're doing homeschooling. And I am so excited to see my wife again.
[00:00:38] Is about the blessing of having an ego expectation.
[00:00:45] The blessing of having ego expectation. You know, we, we all know that Jesus came down. He's the word that became flesh for us. And he walked on earth, he humbled himself, he came to the lowest place in order for him to live the life that we live now more than human being on earth, and then ultimately carrying our sins on the cross and then dying of our sins. And on the third day, he was raised from the dead. And then a little while after that, we went up to heaven on the clouds. So that is the faith that we believe. That is the gospel we believe. We believe that Jesus died for our sins. He became flesh for our sins, and then he was pierced for our transgressions.
[00:01:32] And that is the faith that we, that we have. Amen. That is the gospel we believe.
[00:01:38] And then we went up to heaven, which is a blessing. Now, after enough faith, I think we could come to a place where that is our faith, that is what we live for, and that is ultimately the gospel and the main essay of our faith.
[00:01:54] But then sometimes we forget about the seventh tongue of Jesus Christ.
[00:01:59] And you know, the seventh coming of Jesus Christ is the second most mentioned topic in the New Testament.
[00:02:06] So the first most mentioned topic is not always Jesus and the gospel of Jesus, the fact that he came to us since he became so saved.
[00:02:14] The second most mentioned topic is the second coming of Jesus is mentioned 320 times, 18 times in the New Testament.
[00:02:23] So one out of every 30 verses, it mentions the coming of Jesus, the second coming, which is amazing.
[00:02:33] So there must be a reason why that mention serving in power.
[00:02:37] And I think often in our faith we go through it with a thing of, okay, I've been saved. Now I came after Jesus, all burned out.
[00:02:51] But we as his people need to live with an eager expectation for his second coming.
[00:02:59] In Acts 1:11, it says, Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven?
[00:03:08] This Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven will come in the same way you saw him go into heaven. So the reality is Jesus is okay, he's coming with a different mission, but Jesus is coming again. Hebrews 9:28.
[00:03:29] So it says so Christ having been offered once to be the sins of many, will appear a second time. Not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
[00:03:44] To save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
[00:03:48] Now, in my faith, I've been saved at the age of 15.
[00:03:51] From there it's been quite a roller coaster. If we pull over this, I think I've tested there's probably anything that he can't in this world. And then while doing that, I'd say I'm saved by the Christian.
[00:04:03] But then come the same place in the life. We realize that this is what faith is about.
[00:04:12] And in order for us to truly walk in that thing, you need to have the fear of the Lord.
[00:04:18] We need to understand the fear of the Lord.
[00:04:21] We need to understand the reality that Jesus is coming back.
[00:04:27] Amen.
[00:04:28] Are you guys all right?
[00:04:34] So I want to talk about eager expectation. I want to give you the word and what it looks like, expectation as a church. And then I want to use the Hebrew word which Jesus I need your help with.
[00:04:50] Apocradokia, you just experienced a miracle.
[00:04:56] The fact that I mentioned that.
[00:04:58] So that word that I will not mention again means, actually means to lean forward with your matting stretched out and standing on purpose.
[00:05:11] You know when it's Christmas time and some kids get gifts on Christmas or birthday and they see the gift there and it's like the whole body goes.
[00:05:26] But they know not yet.
[00:05:28] So they know they're going all the way over themselves.
[00:05:33] That is what the Bible means when it says for those who have an eager expectation for the return of Jesus Christ.
[00:05:41] We need to be a leaning forward church. A church that can't wait for the coming of Jesus with the expectation that he's coming again.
[00:05:55] In Titus 2, verse 11 to 13 it says, for the grace of God has appeared, brings salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, waiting for our blessed hope to appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
[00:06:22] You know that scripture that says Jesus Christ?
[00:06:26] We need to live with that expectation and understand that it's not done yet.
[00:06:32] The price is paid for our sins.
[00:06:35] The penalty of death is removed for those who remain in Jesus.
[00:06:41] But it's not done yet.
[00:06:45] So we as a church need to have a heart that longs for Jesus.
[00:06:56] You can't long for something you don't love.
[00:06:59] If there's no love in your heart, you will try and long for it, but it's really, it's almost impossible to long for something that you do not draft. That is why I'm using the religious faith is such a danger in the church, because it removes love and then we function well.
[00:07:18] But there's no love for Jesus.
[00:07:20] There's no burning hearts for Jesus. But we do everything well.
[00:07:26] That's the danger of it. So the reality is we cannot long for Jesus for his return if we don't love him, if our hearts are not burning with a passion for him.
[00:07:37] 2 Timothy 4, 8 says, and now the prize awaits me. The crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me, but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.
[00:07:56] You see now many times this is mentioned, guys, you know, I have so many scriptures we must probably read through the New Testament today.
[00:08:04] But there's the reality of why is it mentioned so many times?
[00:08:09] And it's almost like I miss this for part of my faith.
[00:08:14] They're eagerly awaiting the return of Jesus Christ.
[00:08:17] You know, Revelations 22, I'm not going to read that scripture now, but it talks about the Spirit and the bride saying, We waiting, we waiting for you, Lord. Come.
[00:08:38] And part of that is the fear of the Lord. So I know that one community praise Jesus for that.
[00:08:45] I pray that the Lord will fill your hearts with the fear of who he is. And the fear of the Lord is different from the fear that we know of. This won't be needed.
[00:08:58] The fear of the Lord is understanding who he is, getting to know God and realizing, oh, he's not a man of us.
[00:09:08] You know, my mom said to me the other day, mom, would you listen to this? I love you.
[00:09:14] So she said, she said the aqua wave.
[00:09:23] I was like, mom, I don't speak loudly about that, But I'm afraid of referencing because I'm saying.
[00:09:43] And then because of that, because there expression that I love.
[00:09:50] We strive towards spirit, living holy lives, striving to live towards holiness, laying down the things of this world.
[00:09:59] Guys, we cannot have Jesus in our lives.
[00:10:15] Jesus said this. The darkness needs to flee. So 1 John 3:2 says, Am I that fast? Are you right? You're a legend.
[00:10:25] Dear friends, we are already God's children.
[00:10:28] But he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him. For we see him as he really is.
[00:10:37] And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure as he is pure.
[00:10:48] So if we understand Having the earth, we will live a life towards you.
[00:10:57] Laying down sex before marriage, pornography, all of those sinful acts that we often do in the darkness, we lay it down because we understand the reality of the return of Jesus.
[00:11:15] And then also we need to be alert and watchful.
[00:11:24] Matthew, this is a long scripture and I'll try to go through it quickly. Matthew 25:1 13. Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The five who were foolish didn't take enough oil, olive oil for their lamps. But the other five were wise enough to take a long extra oil.
[00:11:49] When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight they were aroused by the shout, look, the bridegroom is coming.
[00:11:58] Come out to meet him. All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps.
[00:12:03] Then the five foolish ones asked the others, please give me some of your oil because our lamps are going out. But the others replied, we don't have enough for all of us. Go to the shop and buy some for yourselves. While they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came.
[00:12:19] Then those who were ready, those who were ready went in with him. Sorry, I've got add. So it's so those who were ready. It says those who are ready. Now we're talking about three bridesmaids. And it says that only those who already went into the bridegroom.
[00:12:40] Only those who were ready.
[00:12:42] And they locked the door.
[00:12:44] Later the other five bridesmaids returned. They stood outside calling, lord, Lord, open the door for us. But he called back, said, believe me, I don't know you, so you too must keep watch, for you do not know the day or the hour of my return.
[00:13:01] The reality is we cannot live as if we're going to turn 18 years old.
[00:13:10] We cannot live as if you're going to turn 18 years old and know exactly what's going to happen tomorrow. Because Jesus himself said nothing. And me he knows the hour, only the fault. Now, there's a lot of controversy with this topic. I mean, sometimes flies to interest you. They know exactly how many times have we seen that it's happening this Friday. Guys having stuff all their possessions. A lot of guys going make a lot of heads. We've seen that over and over and over.
[00:13:43] And then they look foolish to the rest of the world because the plan is, if they look after Jesus himself said, we will want further hour.
[00:13:53] Because if you know the hour, you will be Prepared for that moment. You live a life like as if you can, because you know exactly it's coming only at 30, 30.
[00:14:04] But when it happens, you can come right now. Yeah, you are Jesus. Come now.
[00:14:14] If Jesus walks into this building now, where's your.
[00:14:19] If he comes now and there's no more time, like you've already had your moment to repent. Turn your life to Jesus. If he walks in, out, he's over.
[00:14:30] Because he's the righteous judge.
[00:14:34] We need to keep the lamps burning.
[00:14:38] Luke 12:35, 37. Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning as though you were waiting for the Master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in. The moment he arrives and knocks, the servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded.
[00:15:00] The posture of readiness.
[00:15:07] And even in that, there is the scripture, Hebrews 10:25, that talks about do not. In the middle of these families.
[00:15:21] There's this evenness in the New Testament of understanding that Jesus is coming.
[00:15:26] That I do think a large part of the church is missing today.
[00:15:30] I'm not talking about us. I'm talking about the global church.
[00:15:33] They're going on as if it's a prosperity moment in life.
[00:15:37] And then they teach the right teaching for the right person, then the right teachings, as EJ is delaying his return.
[00:15:47] So the problem is, if we do not live a life with eager expectation, even though we are Christians, even though we are saved, our minds will become thirsty because we never see. This is the final thing.
[00:16:06] So all of a sudden, it's all about my message.
[00:16:11] All of a sudden it's all about, what can I build here on earth?
[00:16:16] What can I build here on earth? Myself. It's my wealth, my home, my treasures, everything.
[00:16:23] And then if we say, we would say that they are believers, but it's actually not a literal thing to do. That Philippians 3:20 says, but we are now citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives, and we are eagerly waiting for his return. So we are citizens of heaven now.
[00:16:43] We are not citizens of this earth anymore. Yes, you decide, God.
[00:16:48] We're the rising of Jesus that we see.
[00:16:51] Because this has been a short while. You know, my mom passed away a few years ago. She was 95.
[00:16:57] And I prayed for her. She said, please pray. I won't go to Jesus now.
[00:17:01] And I prayed for her. And she said, after I prayed, she said, life is so short.
[00:17:07] She was 95.
[00:17:09] She's now in eternity with Jesus.
[00:17:15] And if we. The other problem that we have Is we'll go into spiritual sleep because there's no eagerness for waiting for coming of Jesus.
[00:17:25] So now we go to the slumber, no parable of the farmer that father vineyard and made a white place, that he ran out the farm.
[00:17:40] And then when the time was right for obviously sent his messenger.
[00:17:48] And then they killed him.
[00:17:50] Then he said, then he sent his son, then they killed him.
[00:17:56] You know, often he can't do the strong murder. He's not going to come back.
[00:18:02] So we live for this moment right now.
[00:18:05] We don't listen to the messengers, we don't listen to the Holy Spirit. He says, turn to now.
[00:18:13] Lay down the things that you are deserving.
[00:18:16] Turn to me now.
[00:18:21] Satan's calling is to move us.
[00:18:23] It's to blind us from the coming of Jesus. He knows if I can just blind him for not having an expectation for the return of Jesus, sing with people, but he's driving us for which is the reality of the return of Jesus.
[00:18:49] Luke 14:15, 2024 it says, Hearing this, a man sitting at a table with Jesus exclaimed, what a blessing will it be to attend the banquet in the kingdom of God. Jesus replied, with this story. A man prepared a great feast, sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, come, the banquet is ready. But they all began to make excuses.
[00:19:19] I've just bought a field and I must go and inspect it.
[00:19:23] Please excuse me. Another said, I've just bought five pairs of oxen and I want to go and try them out.
[00:19:29] Please excuse me. Another said, I just got married, so I can't come.
[00:19:34] Then the servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, go quickly into the streets and the alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame. After the servant had done this, he reported, there is still room for more. So his master said, go out into the country lanes behind the edges and urge anyone you find to come so that the house will be full, for none of those I first invited will even get the smallest taste of my banquet. So the partners, we are now in line.
[00:20:12] How busy is your life?
[00:20:15] If you weigh up your life right now and scale the value of expectation for the coming of Jesus, setting our minds to the things of God in comparison with all the other kingdom y which one is which one is it?
[00:20:34] And I'm not talking about the gcc thing, I'm talking about the relationship with Jesus Christ.
[00:20:41] This is not this is the Golden King and this is his kingdom.
[00:20:47] This isn't the Roman church.
[00:20:50] This is the faith in Jesus Christ.
[00:20:56] But life is lacking on earth.
[00:20:58] You know what? And I will go to church on Sunday. I just want to park you on the Saturday morning.
[00:21:09] So when our minds are not set on waiting on Jesus, we become dull in our prayer life.
[00:21:15] The prayer life become non existent. Our worship becomes redeemed.
[00:21:20] We don't respond to Jesus anymore.
[00:21:23] We sing beautiful songs on Sunday, but there's no response. Remember, worship is a response. It's not the singing of beautiful songs.
[00:21:32] We sing because we respond to them.
[00:21:36] That is what I worship.
[00:21:39] If we stand here and we sing songs and we're only focusing on the songs and we don't have Jesus in our mind and in our hearts and we sing it to him, we are not worship.
[00:21:51] We sing songs.
[00:21:55] That is not worship in spirit and in truth.
[00:21:59] You know my son, he's an idea. So I'll speak about him.
[00:22:03] My oldest boy came to me down, says yeah, I'm sh.
[00:22:09] He's. He's 13 years old.
[00:22:13] See Jesus now, It's something that he understands. I don't want to sing the song on the wall unless I need him.
[00:22:25] I don't want to do it.
[00:22:27] So I see the Bible because he wants to worship Jesus. He's just struggling worship the spirit.
[00:22:34] God loves all.
[00:22:37] Lord, I'm struggling to worship you.
[00:22:40] Just pray. Look at me.
[00:22:51] So we need to return to a place of having.
[00:22:57] We need to come to that place where that is our focus.
[00:23:02] Colossians 3:1 says, since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven.
[00:23:11] Where Christ sits in the place of honour at God's right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
[00:23:20] So when we look at the scale and the one way to another, Jesus is not here already on Jesus is the church. On the Sunday, I like you to go pray and make sure that he is true salvation in your life.
[00:23:39] Because true shall salvation means dying to self.
[00:23:44] So they prosper in images.
[00:23:47] It's not an image on Sunday.
[00:23:50] It's a serenity of our lives because of Jesus.
[00:23:57] You know the church in Ephesus, in the book of Revelation it starts with how Jesus speaks about how perfectly well they do everything in the church.
[00:24:11] They even tested the apostolic to make sure they false or real.
[00:24:15] They've been faithful with everything that they're doing. They're stealing. Well what they're doing. But then Jesus is saying this.
[00:24:24] Revelations 2 from verse 4. But I have this complaint against you. So just before this Jesus said you guys are doing everything.
[00:24:33] You guys are doing everything. But this complaint I have against you. You don't love me or each other as you did at first you did everything well but this thing.
[00:24:48] Look how far you have fallen.
[00:24:51] He just said how well they do but he says look how far you've fallen because you think that the religious act is the right thing for me.
[00:25:01] You have fallen so far.
[00:25:04] You have fallen so far.
[00:25:08] Turn back to me and do works you did at first and then it says that if you don't depend on who lapse.
[00:25:17] So Jesus said you will suffer from the church if you love the mindful of him.
[00:25:27] It's heavy, eh?
[00:25:34] We need to feel conviction Lord, I pray for conviction.
[00:25:38] Let us see you rightly Lord, I want to end off with this.
[00:25:48] You know when a bride prepares for.
[00:26:08] Oh the wedding oh my everything the dress everything with about the dress having this beautiful dress and how she wants it and then I'll never forget one of one of her family members offer to maker location she raised professional wedding dresses. So my wife looked up I mean every now and then she just went for a measure.
[00:26:45] Now it's like everything's about this open where she's going to wear this dress once in a while and it possess this beautiful excitement of the wedding and there is the planning of the wedding everything set up the wedding like everything is ready for this wine day.
[00:27:06] My heart was set on the day that you walk down the aisle and see me chunking crying like a little baby.
[00:27:14] There was just this beautiful expectation for the day of our wedding.
[00:27:20] She looked so beautiful I mean mad because it was probably one thing you could see I was.
[00:27:26] It was most probably one of the things I missed.
[00:27:30] You know this woman is coming out here. She just helped me.
[00:27:34] Wow.
[00:27:36] You know before we got married she her whole life of course both of us had messed with before we got married so.
[00:27:49] And there was just this beauty of coming together and being we don't have responsibility to came.
[00:28:05] Are we preparing ourselves for the coming of Jesus?
[00:28:09] Are we preparing ourselves for the coming of Jesus? Revelation 19, verse 7 says Let us be glad and rejoice and let us give honour to him.
[00:28:22] For the time has come for the wedding feast of the lamb and his bride has prepared herself.
[00:28:31] That's not going to happen by itself. It's not just going to happen.
[00:28:35] There's a preparation in our heart for the return of Jesus. There's even expectation that needs to be done in our hearts so that we can.
[00:28:50] Because no one knows Jesus said will come like thief in the night you will work in the field within one hour not be there anymore the reality of his return.
[00:29:10] And then ultimately you know the beautiful thing with Jesus he's coming for us in the holiness of God and he knew that you cannot fix yourself with you so that's why God seems to make her and then through that the only thing that we need to continue to do is remain in Jesus set our eyes on the sins of heaven you know how often do we look up and say jesus remain.
[00:29:46] See what bubble do you have because even that is a sign of fragments what keeps you the ability to do business because you might think you see on the what gives you the ability to be a good man to raise up people on the see all about setting our minds on the things above I want to end off with a scripture he did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish Instead she will be holy and without fault Amen.
[00:30:35] If we could.
